real neat, thanks

ok, so can i have a hint to get into the closed off room please?

(-1)
hint:if you can't get around the problem, get over it

OH MY GOSH

I THINK I KNOW NOW, I TRIED IT, BUT DIDNT WALK TO WALL!

(+1)

Took some trying, but that last crate was a nice touch for sure

Cool puzzle! I did the first part of the final trick but then gave up without even trying the second part even though I was in a spot where I could have because to me it made no sense that doing the first thing would give you the ability to do the second thing.

Very fun, especially figuring out that last crate :)

minor bug: purpxcbvagf qba'g gevttre vs lbh fgrc vzzrqvngryl bss n jnyy bagb gurz

ah well spotted. don’t think i’ll fix it unless i need other things to be fixed as well because it doesn’t affect gameplay that much

It's worth noting that while pressing R does reset the whole puzzle, you can just undo. You don't have to solve everything again.

yeah i just wanted to mention that because someone might misunderstand “checkpoints” and then complain that r doesn’t reset from the checkpoint

If you are willing to update the game, you can disable PuzzleScript's default restart by putting `norestart` in the prelude:

https://www.puzzlescript.net/Documentation/prelude.html

(+2)

no, i do want people to still be able to restart, but only for the purpose of actually restarting it. thanks for letting me know though

(+1)

really good, love the twist :)

(+1)

I love the final sequence! So many subtle pitfalls to figure out, in addition to the main trick.

interesting take on checkpoints to be compatible with the "one level" restriction (restarting sets you at the beginning)

additionally, the checkpoints don’t work exactly as a puzzlescript “checkpoint” would work, since only the player resets instead of everything, making it a puzzle element instead of just a quality-of-life feature.

That was a rollercoaster! So much clever stuff packed into such a small space and it felt great to figure out the final trick.

I'll put it below the fold, so as not to spoil anyone (wish itch had spoiler tags!!) but you could put yet one more slightly mean sting in the tail

.

Not sure if this wholly avoids other solutions, but by removing one square in the wall of the room with lots of blocks in it, you'd maybe force the player to preserve one of the 14 blocks in that room to fill the gap in the wall

wow, that's so clever and just evil. had to take a minute to see how to get that box in the first place!

it's probably difficult enough as it is now, though. fun idea though

(+2)

If it's any consolation, I only realised you could save a block in the room because I incompetently tried to do it for about 5 minutes instead of realising it was pointless :)

lol, classic puzzle overthinking. happens every time

(+1)

I did the same :D

I thought that extra box was required for |SPOILER|, but turns out it wasn't.

Fun puzzle!

(+1)

Yeah I also saved one of the 14 boxes thinking it would be required.

I tried the same in my first done, and made a passage by 2 stones.
Well, it’s pointless. XD

Spoiler

lol i thought you could only get one, nice

(1 edit)

you can actually get 3.

…didn’t the post i replied to have 6?

(4 edits) (+1)

ok i looked it up and apparently if you go to your profile settings and enable enable “Prefer Markdown input where available”, then you can type spoilers by using:

<details><summary>Spoiler alert</summary>You can click on this text to reveal more text</details>

to get:

Spoiler alertYou can click on this text to reveal more text

however then you get stuff like

2*4*6

turning into 246

Ah, turns out that you can’t edit a comment to use this after turning it on

Spoiler :(

It seems that it cannot contain images

Like this

Maybe I should use TAG <img>

Spoiler?

actually you can also go here (solution by Ao)

ah good point. either way it would involve some backtracking. if i wanted to have the “retrieve a box out” part but not the backtracking part, i could do it so the small room containing the box is not there, so you need to get it yourself.

Ah, good find! That adds a nicer quirk of having to get the block back in place vs realising you screwed it up 100 moves ago when you solved the 14 block room ;)

(+1)

I liked this one, it has a nice ramp up in complexity.

this should be hidden, it says how in the instructions.

(1 edit)

i followed the instructions, but it only hides it on my main profile page, not from searching and stuff. just now i changed the post so it shouldn't be searchable anymore

unless i'm missing something the guide doesn't mention this

I was making great progress. Really proud of myself and my demonstration of how smart I am... then I got to the end, noticed that one block that I can't get to on the left and realized. I'm really not that smart after all. Good game, but I'm stumped!!

And your hint to Tanner07 was the last nudge I needed. Quite a devious and fun puzzle!
